My hand is doing much much better pain wise. Ive gone from pain meds every 4-5 hours to 1 pill a day, some times not even that. If i get to doing too much with my hand, it gets to hurting, but otherwise, the pain is pretty much gone. I cannot make a fist though, the knuckle in my hand, its movement is very limited. If I cannot make more progress, I probably will end up with some OT to get it moving again. That doesnt mean I cant do pretty much anything I need to with it. My grip is obviously not what it should be because of it, but most things are very doable. The swelling is minimal now, and very localized to the back part of my hand. Overall, for being just two weeks away from surgery, I think my hand is doing great.
Eric and I have been working to get our spare bedroom back to its 'pre-wreck' state. Shortly before the wreck we had moved the computer out of the livingroom downstairs, and set up the spare bedroom as an office/sewing room. I have my craft stuff and my sewing desk on one side of the room and Eric had his computer and filing cabinet on the other and my hundreds of books are in that room as well. Anyway, back right before the wreck my parents came for a visit, and we had pushed my desk aganst the wall to make space on the floor for the air mattress. We were headed out of town on vacation and never got the room put back, and then the accident happened. The computer got moved back downstairs since we were neither one able to tackle the stairs for a good while, and it has stayed downstairs because I still struggle with the stairs. The room had become a disaster area. I mean books in piles needing to be put away, the potty/shower chair in the middle of the floor, the walker folded up aganst the wall, papers that needed to be put in the filing cabinet in piles on the floor, etc. It was horrible, so we finally tackled that room this week. It took us all week to get it habitable again. We moved the computer back upstairs yesterday, and my sewing area is almost ready for me to start sewing up here again. I am very pleased with how things are looking.
We got the fish tank stand painted and new hinges and a handle put on. It is ready to be set up. That is one reason we needed to get the computer back upstairs, there is no place for another tank downstairs until the computer was elsewhere. We soaked the tank with 10 times the normal dose of water conditioner, to make sure none of my cleaning left a residue that might poison any fish. It smells nice and fresh now. We still need to get a top made for it, and get a heater and a filter. That probably wont happen all at once, but we hope to get it up and running in the next month.
Well, typing starts to hurt after a while, so that is all for today!
