I made some yummy herb and cheese bread today! My camera's batteries are dead or I'd post a picture! Its called Herb and Cheese Bubble Loaf. I found the receipe in the red plaid cookbook. The one just about everone has. I can't think of it's name right now. Anyway, I used shredded cheddar cheese, fresh garlic, fresh basil & parsley, along with melted butter and a little olive oil and black pepper. It is a yeast bread, so after I mixed the flour, milk, shredded cheese and salt, I had to let it raise for an hour. It plumped up nicely. Then I melted 1/4 cup butter and added the fresh herbs and garlic, minced, and the pepper and olive oil. Then I rolled the dough out and cut it into 1-2" square pieces. Each piece was rolled into a ball and then rolled in the butter and herb mixture. They were placed side by side in the pan, covered and left to raise for about 35 minutes. They were nice and puffy when I put them in the oven. They baked for about 35 minutes, covered with foil for the last 5. They are golden and delicious!! I used my baster to brush the tops with the last bit of the herb butter mixture. They pull apart into bite-size pieces, all zesty and buttery. I must say I impressed myself. :)
