My knee is doing really good. The pain that the torn cartilege caused is gone, Praise God. I do have problems with the knee swelling and being stiff and sore. Ive been limping some, and my Dr is sending me to have 3 weeks of Physical Therapy. So im going back to my Physical therapist I had for seven months after the wreck, Scott. My evaluation appointment is Sep 6th. Im not sure how I am going to fit two visits per week in, but I figure we will do what we can, I know how important therapy can be. It will be nice to see everyone at the therapy lounge, we got to know them really well over the last year.
Eric's mom is coming for a visit starting Sat Sep 9th, and will be visiting us for a little over two weeks. She is flying from Raliegh, NC to here, we have a nice local airport. She changes planes in Atlanta. We are looking forward to her visit.
Tonight, after my Dad gets home from work, he and my mom are driving part way down to see us, and finishing the trip tommorrow, getting here around lunch time. They will be here only thru Sunday evening. Daddy is coming and bringing his muscles (Daddy can carry anything) to help us bring the furniture down from upstairs. We plan to stack it all in the living/dining room for the next week and half. We will have a crowed obsticle course downstairs for a while! We have nearly everything packed, other than kitchen stuff and clothes. Clothes I dont plan to pack up, those will be left in their drawers and the drawers themselves moved. The kitchen stuff will be packed up this coming week. The only other thing to be delt with will be the garage sale stuff, we have been trying to sort and pack at the same time. We have quite the pile of 'junk' to sell.
We have tickets to the ballgame for all four of us this Saturday, so that will be a nice break with my parents. We just hope it isnt unbearably hot! This time last year, Mom, Dad and my brother and SIL came down for laborday weekend, and I was still in the wheel chair, and we all went to the ball game. Ahh the changes in a years time!!!
Im so excited over the move, so excited!!!!
In other news, my new group of little kids are great. I have four boys and and five girls. So far I have I had two, one boy and one girl that have not appeared, so I might have only 3 boys and 4 girls when it is all said and done. Anyway, one of my little girls from the summer session is back, Harsika. (pronounced HA she ka) who speaks almost no english, maybe two or three words at the most. That is a real challenge. Two of my little boys are such sweeties, i would pick them up and bring them home in a heart beat. One of the little girls is very obstinate, but her mom is one of the other teachers and was my helper the first week, and this little girl does much better when her mom isnt in the same room! Im loving the kids.
My knee swelled really badly on wednesday (my first day back after surgery), but I made it through. All the ladies are so nice and concerned over how I am doing etc. It warms my heart. I thank God for placing me in such a wonderful setting to work with kids.
