If you remember a few posts ago, I showed you pictures of our yard. Us mowing and raking leaves, etc.
We have been back out in the yard again. It is still a work in progress. We have been uprooting what is left of the Monkey grass from around the base of the big tree. We mowed it down. It was huge and overgrown and shaggy. We didn't like it at all, so it is now history. We have been using the shovel to take off the top layer of soil, and get the rest of the monkey grass roots etc. It is hard work and slow going. We are almost all done around the tree. There was monkey grass all the way along the front of the house, and it will be removed as well.
We are also hoping to put in a walkway up to the front door from the draveway. The grass doesn't grow in a big area there anyway, so we are thinking about using paving stones to make a walkway. We need to see what all that might entail.
Im also trying to find out what flowers would grow well in mostly shade in this area. I am not a good gardener, but I think there needs to be some color and some organization.
