I've been working on the new aquarium. It had alot of crusties and kinda scummy residue on the inside of the glass. I first soaked the tank with very hot water and some bleach, and after about an hour, I scrubbed it with some salt. It took most of the crustyness off, but the scummyness was still there. So Im soaking it again, this time with hot water and vinegar. I noticed when I was scrubbing it the last time that spots of the sealant are loose. No leaks or anything, but I may re-seal the tank before we set it up. I've read up on how to do that and I think I am capable. :)
Eric is mid-way through his weekend, and we will both be glad when monday gets here. He will probably go to the station for a while, to work on some new graphics, on monday and tuesday so that thursday and friday he does not have to go in. Since friday is the surgery on my hand, I also think that is a good idea.
I'm cutting squares for a new quilt for Eric and I. I don't know how far I will get, or how long it will be before I get back to it after my surgery, but I like to stay busy. I am mostly using material I have on hand, mostly small patterned blues and pinks and purples. I plan to get some white to spread it out with, and also a small amount of some pattern to go with what I have. Maybe somthing in the green family. The curtains in our bedroom are navy, with a valance that is white with shades of purple and blue and a little green. I want to stay in that area. As always, I plan to put flannel on the back of the quilt. I may do some embroidery on some of the white squares. Again, I don't know when I'll be able to do that. This may be a project that takes the majority of the summer. But that is ok. I'll post pictures along the way.
