Eric is doing a weather talk for an after-school childrens club today. There were going to be two groups of kids, but I don't know how many kids over-all.

On his way home he is supposed to swing by the glass shop and pick up the new aquarium and lid we had made. I can't wait to see how it turned out. Then my next step will be to tape off the glass of the tank and spray the trim black to match the stand. When that part is finished, I plan to post a few pictures on here, a before and after type thing.

I have another quilt square done and the one that matches it is at least half done or a bit more. I started with the squares that were the most involved, embroidery -wise, so things may speed up a little after I finish the set after the one I'm almost done with now.

I dont know if I have mentioned our spice garden. For Christmas, Eric's mom gave us what is called an Aero Garden. It uses water and light and specific nutrients to grow the plants, but no soil.

This is how it looked the day we set it up, January 19th.

This is how it looked on Feburary 26th.

We have Mint, Basil, Purple Basil, Dill, Cilantro, Chives and Parsley. Our Parsley was defective and the company had to send us a new one. It is a long way behind the others growth wise.

We have been enjoying the fresh herbs. I have never really used freash herbs for cooking before. I did some searching on the internet and found some neat recipies to try. We already love the Basil and Chives. The Cilantro is growing out of control! We made some salsa the other day, and it turned out good. With the Basil, I make a melted butter and parmesan cheese bread topping. If you put it in the oven on broil for just a few minutes it comes out crusty and delicious. We eat it on French Bread, with my home-made spagetti sauce to dip it in.
