Yesterday was such a nice day that we decided it was time to wash the cars. I didn't realize how dirty the taurus was until we had it partly washed, and you could see the gray grime in stark contrast to the white it should be. We spent a good portion of the day outside.
I finished spraying the new fish tank trim. It is a nice black now, and matches the stand so nicely. It didn't take too long, and I am so pleased with how it turned out.
We spent today setting the tank up and filling it. We also put handles on the front glass piece, so it is easier to lift off for feeding the fish etc. We had to get a special adhesive at Home Depot to adhere to the glass as well as the wooden handles we bought. I had to spray paint the handles black to match the tank and stand.
You had to put the adhesive on the handles and the glass and let it sit for 5 minutes before sticking the two together. It takes 24 hours to dry fully, so while the lid is already being used, we are not lifting it by the handles!
Below are a few pictures of the setting up of the tank.
It is a little hard to see the colors of the gravel, but they are dark dark green and a deep burgandy color, and a small amount of cream/gold. The colors are quite pretty, but very dark. We still need a background, as you can see, but we haven't found one we like yet.
We moved our 6 male guppies over to help cycle the new tank, which made space in the 10 gallon. When we get to the pet store, we can use the ten gallon to quarintine any new additions.
We still have grocery shopping to do yet this afternoon, and we are hoping for time to run by the pet store. :)
Tomorrow is my follow-up appointment with Dr Geissler, my hand Doctor. If I am to have any Occupational Therapy, he will probably order it when I see him tomorrow.
