One of the ladies I work with, Laura, is expecting her 5th or 6th child, she is due in late January. All of us at work make over her and make sure she sits down and give her help as we can. She is such a lovely sweet lady. Always worried about someone else, and doesnt think of herself. She is such a sweetie and I love her bunches. She knows she is having a little girl, but they cant seem to decide on a name. Her four oldest children vote for Scarlet, but she isnt so sure about that!
So I decided to make a baby quilt for the little one. I had enough material left over from the big quilt I just finished to make one for the baby, with the addition of some yellow material with little pink flowers and blue butterflies. It is going to be so cute! I have 74 little squares, mostly pinks and purples, and four bigger white squares. I'm embroidering a "Sunbonet Sue" and an "Overall Bill" on two of the squares, then I have ABC on one and little blue birds on the other. I have the embroidery nearly done, its all in pinks and blues and purples. I plan to back it with flannel, since this will be a winter baby, we want to keep her warm!!!I will post some pictures as soon as I can locate the camera!!
AH Ha!! I FOUND the camera!! It took me forever, I swear this house eats things at times!!
So here are a few pics, first, the big quilt I just finished, with Eric's help. He is such a good helper, when I can get him to pay attention! :)
Here are a few pics of the baby blanket, I just started it two days ago, so I am not too far along! These are all the fabric squares I am using.
Next we have the four white squares, my original intention was to make them look like A B C blocks, and spell "BABY', but I didnt have all the letters I needed on hand, so I went with SunBonnet Sue and Overall Bill, and the other patterns were in the envelope with them.
I hope to finish it by early december, before Laura leaves on maternity leave. When she leaves for Christmas break, she wont be back until 6 weeks after the baby is born, so I dont know for sure when I would see her to give it to her. Ill post pictures as I go!
