So last wednesday I took all the boxes in for the kids to play with. These boxes, taped shut, were the most entertaining thing of the day. The kids would stack them up and knock them down and laugh with glee. It was great. Then they opened one of the bigger ones and started packing the little boxes inside the bigger one. Then they wanted me to tape it closed so they could 'move'. Then they would drag the box across the room and open it again and 'unpack'. After that, the discovered that one of the boxes on its side and a bigger one right in front made a great make-believe piano. Then one of the bigger boxes became a cave I think, and everyone wanted inside it, but it was only really big enough for one at a time. Then they started opening random boxes and singing happy birthday to each other! This is all without any prompting from me. They were completely entertained all day with empty boxes!
Tommorrow I'm taking the bigger boxes to make a tunnel. I think it is a safe bet that they will be just as entertained by that. I figure we can color the box tunnel as well.
In other news, I'm working on a divider for our ten gallon tank. I want to move Blueberry from his little half gallon bowl into one side of the ten gallon and then put another betta in the other side. Im using plastic canvas and zip ties and plastic binder spines. It is still a work in progress, but I will post pictures when it is done, assuming it works. :)
Next week we are heading out of town to visit Eric's family in Virginia. Im sure our neices have really grown!
Eric is on day 11 of work. He is tired, I am tired. I work tommorrow morning, but the rest of the day will be our first chance to relax and spend some time together! Then Tuesday and Wednesday will be our 'weekend'. I don't work wednesday because of the holiday.
